Job Summary

The Director Procurement provides leadership and operational oversight for both Nuclear procurement activities and equipment & materials procurement for the Enterprise, ensuring timely execution of contracts and purchase orders for Nuclear online, outage, and strategic projects, and Utility operations & projects. The Director is responsible for ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, cost savings targets, risk management standards, and vendor performance requirements. Leads the Nuclear Procurement and Equipment & Materials integrated sourcing teams (IST’s) in the establishment and implementation of major corporate wide driven programs (e.g. assurance of supply, NJ spend, vendor management). Directs the personnel and activities of the category management and procurement operations organizations supporting Nuclear & Utility. Leads the organizational focus on, and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develops and maintains an environment that promotes diversity and high productivity.


Regularly reports to both Nuclear & Newark General Office locations as part of routine responsibilities. Additional travel on average 10%, as business needs dictate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements multi-year procurement strategies that support procurement goals for cost efficiency, assurance of supply, vendor performance management, supplier diversity, sustainability, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversees prioritization and governance of key sourcing initiatives, category management programs, and supplier strategies.
  • Directs management of Nuclear Procurement and Equipment & Materials IST’s overseeing the spend analysis, market analysis, strategic vision, sourcing, negotiations, contract development, implementation, rollout, and supplier relationship management.
  • Directs management of Nuclear Procurement efforts related to parts availability and planning for outages & online work.
  • Oversees and tracks key performance indicators to ensure critical outage milestones are achieved.
  • Monitors industry trends and benchmarks to identify opportunities for cost reduction, innovation, and improved supplier collaboration.
  • Provides strategic direction for enhancements to contractual terms & conditions to address business requirements in collaboration with Commercial Law.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversees employee development, training, and engagement initiatives for Procurement IST’s.
  • Oversees supplier risk management and compliance with internal controls, 810 Export Controls, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with the Nuclear Line of Business and Commercial Law to address supplier disputes and performance issues prior to litigation.
  • Develops long-term strategic supplier relationships to support operational excellence and innovation.
  • Provides accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations.
  • Conducts performance planning and appraisals.
  • Identifies opportunities for growth and learning.
  • Develops methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 7-12 years of industry/related experience, including at least 5 years as a manager
  • Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027
  • Compliance with the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required


Desired:

  • Preferred: Graduate degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, Certified Purchasing
  • Manager (C.P.M.) and/ or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), MBA
