Director/Compliance-Finco

Job Description

He will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the compliance framework for the organization. This role ensures that the company adheres to all applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies while proactively mitigating compliance risks. Most importantly, foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy for the lending business, aligned with the company's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a robust compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and controls, to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations for a finance company.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to ensure the organization remains compliant with evolving requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and manage regulatory filings, audits, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with the group compliance team by ensuring compliance of the organization with applicable law and regulations and designing/implementing quality programs that improve corporate compliance culture at Etisalat and in particular Fintech.
  • Be the focal point contact leading various committee meetings including, but not limited to board and audit, risk and compliance, from a compliance standpoint.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements. Remain current with emerging regulatory changes and assess the impact of laws and regulations on the Fintech industry compliance requirements (new and emerging laws around crypto trading compliances).
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management team to align compliance efforts with overall risk management strategies.
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Build and lead a high performing compliance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including Legal, Risk, Operations, and Product, to ensure compliance is integrated into business processes.
  • Monitor internal and external business, regulatory and technology environments to identify new or emerging compliance risks, and devise remediation of issues as applicable.
  • Promote integrity across functions and ensure the adherence of all business operations to internal compliance related policies and processes.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Law or Economics.
  • ACAMS certification is a must.
  • Master's in Finance, Law or Economics is preferred.
  • 10+ years of total experience in regulatory/compliance roles in the BFSI sector.
