Position Summary
The Support Services Dispatcher is the first point of interaction with Support Services, with a critical focus on throughput. Dispatchers are the essential communicators within all Support Service Departments, ensuring patients get to the right unit for levels of care needed.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Keeps records of all calls and follow-up on customer requests in a timely manner and alerts management of any trends or patterned issues.- Supports departmental operations by managing general calls, linen and bed requests, stretcher services, medical equipment, and other assigned support needs within the department’s scope.
- Effectively communicates and serves as the liaison between the Discharge Team, PCP, Emergency Department, and other customers.
- Develops delivery routes and maintains contact with drivers throughout the day.
- Uses Bed Management Software to direct, alter, and/or optimize delivery and assistance with throughput.
- Maintains open lines of communications with all units and departments to ensure all service requests are handled efficiently and appropriately.
- Collaborates with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Remains agile and ready to handle sudden route changes or delivery issues.- Able to work with a multi-phone line system.
- Able to work in a team environment and in high pressure situations.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the hospital throughput process.
- Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
Experience
Two (2) years of previous support services, operational, or related experience.- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and a caring attitude toward patients, visitors, guests, and fellow team members.
