Dispatcher

We are a small family owned long time trucking company based in Cincinnati and we are searching for a Dispatcher/Supervisor to replace our current dispatcher that is retiring. Candidate must have experience in LTL transportation. As a dispatcher you will be responsible for routing LTL shipments for drivers to deliver, pickup and coordinate with operations.

Duties

• Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using our transportation program.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter accurate data related to shipments, dispatch logs, shipping & receiving records, and fleet management.
• Monitor shipment statuses in real-time, troubleshoot delays or issues promptly, and adjust dispatch plans accordingly to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of dispatch activities, freight movements, and incident reports to ensure compliance and operational transparency.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with drivers, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy using our proprietary system.
• Experience with shipping & receiving procedures.
• Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
• Knowledge of transportation planning principles within the supply chain context to optimize freight routes and schedules.
• Familiarity with freight management concepts and transportation management best practices.
