Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for dispatching freight and coordinating driver schedules using transportation management systems such as Tookan and Metric.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
• Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Transportation Management platforms to document shipments, delivery statuses, and related logistics information.
• Monitor shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of freight while adhering to safety standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with 3PL providers (third-party logistics) to streamline supply chain operations and resolve any issues promptly.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or service enhancements in freight dispatching.
• Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment logs, fleet management updates, and incident reports for compliance and reporting purposes.

Experience

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GPS technology.
• Demonstrated analysis skills with the ability to interpret data for process optimization.
• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette, typing speed, and multi-line phone system operation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
