Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient movement of freight and shipments by scheduling, tracking, and communicating with drivers, carriers, and clients. Your proactive approach will ensure timely deliveries, optimize routing, and maintain seamless operations across our supply chain network. Duties

• Coordinate and assign freight shipments using transportation management systems to ensure optimal routing and delivery schedules
• Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to monitor vehicle locations, plan routes, and improve transportation efficiency
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and clients via phones and emails systems while maintaining professional etiquette
• Enter data accurately into systems like software, Transportation Management Systems, and supply chain platforms to track shipments, delivery statuses, and inventory movements
• Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring all freight is dispatched or received on time while adhering to safety and compliance standards
• Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities, incidents, delays, or issues for reporting purposes
• Collaborate with fleet management teams to oversee vehicle availability and maintenance schedules
• Knowledge and Utilization of load boards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments
• Strong knowledge of transportation planning, freight operations, and supply chain processes
• Familiarity with transportation software and load boards
• Excellent analysis skills for route optimization and problem-solving in high-pressure situations
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle phones and emails professionally
• Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy; attention to detail
• Understanding of shipping & receiving procedures along with fleet management practices
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is advantageous
