About this Position:

This position is responsible for customer service duties and helping in the efficient planning, scheduling, and coordination of drivers, trucks, and loads to support the company’s logistical operations. This includes dispatching for equipment, water, aggregate, grain, juice, and other materials. The role serves as a central communication point for drivers, and internal operations, ensuring timely service, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation including customer walk-in greetings and answering phones.

What we’re looking for:

  • Plan and schedule drivers, routes, and loads to meet customer requirements and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Provide customers with accurate ETAs and driver location updates.
  • Develop and quote freight rates in collaboration with management.
  • Address and resolve issues involving shippers, customers, or drivers.
  • Prepare dispatch documents, freight bills, and invoices.
  • Maintain detailed records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, and delivery/pickup times.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations and laws.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling discrepancies caused by vendor or internal errors.
  • Participate in lessons‑learned reviews and apply findings to future planning.
  • Apply for oversize and weight‑restriction permits as needed.
  • Operate scales and print tickets when required.
  • Answering phones and assisting with customer walk ins.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in transportation or logistics preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a related industry.
  • Strong ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and manage dispatch operations.
  • Experience in customer service, freight billing, and invoicing.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Software (e.g., Samsara) and Microsoft Office; ability to learn Service Fusion dispatch software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with limited supervision.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
