Dispatcher / Driver Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch auto transport drivers to meet daily pickup and delivery schedules
• Plan efficient routes to maximize load capacity and minimize empty miles
• Monitor shipments in real time and proactively address delays or issues
• Communicate with drivers regarding assignments, updates, and performance expectations
• Maintain consistent communication with customers, brokers, railheads, and port facilities
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service (HOS), and company policies
• Track and update shipment status in transportation management systems (TMS)
• Resolve service issues, including damages, delays, or delivery discrepancies
• Optimize fleet utilization and support capacity planning
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, driver logs, and delivery documentation
• Collaborate with yard operations and load planners to ensure efficient vehicle flow

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• 2+ years of dispatching experience, preferably in auto transport or trucking/logistics
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and dispatch software
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle logistics, car hauling, or port/rail operations
• Familiarity with load boards and freight brokerage platforms
• Knowledge of geographic regions, routes, and transit times across key markets
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
