An Engineering Document Controller manages, controls, and maintains all project technical documentation (drawings, specs, reports) for accuracy, versioning, and accessibility, ensuring compliance with standards by logging, tracking, distributing, archiving electronic/hard copies, and supporting engineering teams through efficient document lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities
- Document Management: Set up and maintain electronic and physical filing systems, master registers, and document control systems (DMS).
- Control & Tracking: Assign document numbers, track revisions, manage version control, and control the issuance and distribution of documents.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on incoming/outgoing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
- Distribution & Communication: Distribute documents to internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors according to distribution matrices, handling both physical and electronic transfers.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle, including archiving, storage, and secure disposal of technical records and drawings.
- Support & Reporting: Assist engineering and project teams, provide progress reports, and help maintain quality management systems (QMS).
