Dog and House Sitter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Pet House Sitter to provide exceptional care for pets and maintain the comfort and security of clients’ homes. This role requires overnight stays in other people's homes. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to work with animals of various breeds and temperaments, ensuring they receive love, attention, and proper care while owners are away. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal welfare, ready to handle a variety of responsibilities that keep pets happy and safe in their familiar environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily pet care including feeding, walking, administering medication, and engaging in playtime to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
• Monitor pets’ health and behavior, reporting any concerns or unusual symptoms promptly
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets by cleaning bedding, feeding areas, and litter boxes as needed
• Administer basic pet grooming tasks such as brushing or bathing when required
• Handle animal restraint safely during vet visits or grooming sessions, ensuring comfort for the pet
• Perform routine house checks to ensure security, including collecting mail, watering plants, and maintaining cleanliness
• Communicate regularly with pet owners to update them on their pets’ well-being and any household issues
• Manage pet sitting schedules efficiently to accommodate multiple clients if necessary

Qualifications

• Prior experience with dog training, handling, or veterinary assistance is highly desirable
• Knowledge of animal handling techniques and pet care best practices
• Experience working with animals such as dogs, cats, or horses; kennel experience is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting bags of pet food or supplies)
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Familiarity with pet grooming, animal restraint techniques, and basic veterinary procedures
• Valid experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is advantageous
• Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules and household tasks effectively
• Pet first aid and CPR Certifications are a plus!

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $125.00 - $400.00 per week

Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
