KENL INN JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Dog Hiker – Summer Part Time AM Shift

Pay: $15.00, plus Departmental Tips

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Kenl Inn Trail Companion/Dog Hiker for early morning hikes on a part-time basis during the summer. Reports to Kennel Supervisor and General Manager, for proper direction, interpretation, and evaluation.

Maintains and guarantees KENL INN, INC. quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transfers pets between quarters before and after the hike.
• Maintains hiking closet, hiking equipment, and other KENL INN property as assigned
• Hikes with pets and summarizes activity on forms provided for pet
• Observes safety / security procedures, determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, and reports

potentially unsafe conditions.

• Reports to Supervisor about any deviation from training and scheduling.
• Performs related work as

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• This is a physical job, must be able to manage / control dogs that are between 20 lbs. and 120 lbs.
• Applicants must be accountable, responsible, dependable, and flexible to work at Kenl Inn.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all employees and departments
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to conduct detailed (but uninvolved)

written or oral instructions.

• Must be able to work independently, under pressure meeting company timelines.
• Knowledge of KENL INN Code of Ethics, Pet Care Code of Ethics, KENL INN policy, law, and ability to implement principals and regulations within job duties and

interactions

• Ability to accept feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 17 years of age or older

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work early morning shifts, 7 am to 12 noon, depending on the number of dogs holidays and weekends when required
• Transportation to and from work
• Team Player

Schedule:

• 4-to-6-hour shifts, any day of week, weekends, and holidays
