Responsibilities

• Take dogs on engaging walks tailored to each pet’s energy level and needs, ensuring they get proper exercise and mental stimulation
• Provide pet sitting services including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining routines established by pet owners
• Monitor animals during walks or visits to ensure safety and proper behavior, utilizing animal restraint techniques when necessary
• Offer basic pet grooming such as brushing or cleaning up after pets to keep them comfortable and healthy
• Maintain detailed records of each pet’s activities, health observations, and any concerns to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Handle animals with care using proper dog handling skills, especially during feeding or grooming sessions
• Assist with light veterinary-related tasks if required, such as administering medication or observing for signs of illness

Skills

• Proven experience in dog training and handling to manage various temperaments confidently
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience to recognize health issues early
• Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely during care or grooming activities
• Experience in pet sitting with a focus on animal care, pet grooming, and maintaining routines
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for supplies or assisting larger animals
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and address their concerns professionally
• Familiarity with kennel experience or animal shelter work is a plus for managing multiple pets efficiently
