Responsibilities

• Lead well-structured walks that promote pet exercise, mental stimulation, and healthy behavior
• Handle dogs of various breeds and sizes with confidence, ensuring proper animal restraint and safety protocols
• Monitor animal behavior during walks, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort and responding appropriately
• Maintain clear communication with pet owners regarding their pet’s activity, mood, and any concerns during visits
• Assist with basic pet care tasks such as feeding, grooming, or administering medication if needed (training provided)
• Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained in good condition for daily use
• Follow established safety procedures to prevent injuries to animals or handlers during outdoor work

Experience

• Prior dog handling experience or familiarity with animal handling techniques
• Knowledge of dog training principles and understanding of animal behavior patterns
• Experience working with veterinary professionals or in veterinary technician/assistant roles is a plus
• Background in pet sitting, kennel work, or overnight in-home pet care enhances suitability for this role
• Comfortable performing physical activities such as heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Excellent client communication skills to build trust and provide updates to pet owners

Job requires mid - day commitments for clients daily walks and/or pet sitting for those clients who are out of town. Holiday's would be peak time and would allow a surcharge for increased pay. All Tips would be given to the sitter and we are a W2 employee through ADP.

Pay: $15.00 - $27.84 per hour
