Drafter/CAD Designer

A rapidly growing engineering and construction company in Northern Virginia is seeking bright and energetic individuals for the following position:

DRAFTING / CAD DESIGNER

Responsibilities:
Design & Documentation

• Design and draft fire protection systems using AutoCAD
• Prepare coordination and fabrication plans, and detailed cut sheets
• Review construction documents and prepare project cut sheets and RFIs
• Manage the RFI and submittal process

Project Coordination

• Provide engineering/technical support to field staff
• Coordinate with the project management team and support client needs
• Assist with planning and scheduling based on construction progress
• Support the project manager throughout the construction process
• Coordinate procurement and material handling
• Ensure project schedules remain on track to meet deadlines

Field & Project Support

• Visit construction sites and attend project meetings
• Prepare documentation and written reports
• Develop and maintain construction-related documents
• Log and monitor RFIs and change orders
• Assist with on-site project management to ensure successful outcomes
• Process owner billings and assist with project-related accounting

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
• Experience with Revit (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and multi-tasking skills
• Familiarity with applicable rules, regulations, best practices, and industry standards

Compensation:

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year (competitive)
