Drafting Specialist – Chilled Water Systems

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Drafting Specialist – Chilled Water Systems with strong hands-on experience in chilled water plants and hydronic HVAC networks. The role is primarily focused on producing high-quality technical drawings for chilled water piping layouts, plant rooms, pump rooms, and HVAC equipment connections. Exposure to other MEP disciplines (Electrical and Plumbing) is considered an added advantage. The candidate will work closely with mechanical engineers and project teams to ensure technical accuracy, coordination, and compliance with Bahrain regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed chilled water system drawings, including piping layouts, hydraulic schematics, sections, and details.
• Develop shop drawings and as-built drawings for chilled water plants, pump rooms, primary/secondary piping loops, valves, AHUs, FCUs, and associated HVAC equipment.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure proper integration of chilled water and HVAC systems.
• Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and site teams to meet project specifications and timelines.
• Produce accurate and coordinated drawings using AutoCAD and Revit (MEP).
• Ensure all drawings comply with Bahrain local codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and assist with bill of quantities (BOQ) for chilled water and HVAC systems.
• Provide drafting support during construction, including drawing clarifications, revisions, and site coordination when required.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, civil, electrical) to resolve clashes and ensure integrated designs.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.
• Manage multiple chilled water and HVAC projects while meeting deadlines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, MEP, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in MEP drafting with a strong focus on chilled water systems and HVAC projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must.
• Solid understanding of chilled water plant layouts, hydronic systems, and HVAC design coordination.
• Strong knowledge of MEP codes, standards, and practices applicable in Bahrain.
• CRPEP license is an advantage.
