Draftsman – (Civil Engineering Background)

Job Title: Draftsman – Steel Structure (Civil Engineering Background)
Salary: AED 5,000 – 6,000 per month

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Draftsman with a Civil Engineering background and strong expertise in steel structure works for our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and coordination drawings to support project execution in accordance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and construction standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed shop drawings for steel structures based on IFC drawings, design drawings, and site requirements.
• Develop fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel elements including beams, columns, trusses, connections, and related components.
• Coordinate with project engineers, site engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings are practical and suitable for execution.
• Review structural drawings, specifications, and consultant comments to incorporate necessary revisions.
• Prepare technical drawings considering site conditions, fabrication requirements, and installation methodology.
• Support the project team in resolving technical and detailing issues during construction activities.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain proper drawing registers, documentation, and revision control.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Draftsman in steel structure and civil construction projects.
• Contractor-side experience preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; knowledge of Tekla Structures or other steel detailing software will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection procedures, and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, IFC drawings, and engineering details.
• Good coordination skills with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver drawings within project timelines.
