Draftsman Structural

Position Title: Draftsman – Structural

Department: Engineering
Reporting To: Structural Engineer / Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Structural Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed structural drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers and architects. The role involves creating accurate construction drawings for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects using CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed structural drawings, layouts, and plans using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
  • Develop reinforcement detailing (RCC detailing) and bar bending schedules (BBS).
  • Interpret structural design calculations and translate them into technical drawings.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and MEP teams to ensure design accuracy.
  • Modify and revise drawings as per engineer’s instructions.
  • Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and local authority regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and drawing records.
  • Assist in site visits if required for measurement and clarification.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Drafting Technology.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural drafting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/ETABS is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of structural components (footings, beams, columns, slabs, steel structures).
  • Good knowledge of construction standards and practices.
