Key Responsibilities
- Safe Driving: Operate vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely delivery or transportation.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular checks and basic maintenance on the vehicle (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure, fuel levels) to ensure it remains in good working condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and any incidents. Complete necessary paperwork related to deliveries or transport.
- Emergency Handling: Respond appropriately to any emergencies or breakdowns, following company protocols.
Helper Duties:
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are secured properly to avoid damage during transit.
- Handling Goods: Handle goods with care, following specific handling instructions where necessary.
- Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with clients or recipients during deliveries, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.
- Inventory Management: Assist in checking and verifying inventory during loading and unloading processes.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and work areas.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Valid Driver’s License: Possess a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items and prolonged periods of driving.
- Experience: Previous experience in a driving role, preferably with experience as a helper in logistics or delivery services.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
Preferred:
- Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with local and regional routes.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Customer Service: Experience in a customer-facing role.
Working Conditions
- Environment: Primarily working on the road and at various delivery sites, with exposure
- Hours: May include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on delivery schedules.
