Overview

We are looking for a skilled Ducting Technician to join our HVAC team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, fabricating, assembling, and maintaining ductwork systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and repair ductwork for HVAC systems, including sheet metal and insulated ducts.
• Measure, cut, and shape duct materials using proper tools and techniques.
• Fabricate duct components such as transitions, offsets, elbows, and plenums.
• Install hangers, supports, and brackets to secure ducting safely.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and HVAC layouts.
• Seal duct systems to prevent air leaks and ensure proper airflow.
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, and construction teams on project requirements.
• Perform inspections and routine maintenance on existing duct systems.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety standards, building codes, and company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC or ducting preferred.
• Proven experience as a Ducting Technician or in HVAC installation (1–3+ years).
• Strong understanding of duct fabrication and installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and airflow principles.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GI, PI, and flexible ducts.
• Knowledge of insulation materials and installation techniques.
• Familiarity with tools such as shears, snips, drills, grinders, and duct lifters.
• Basic welding or sheet metal fabrication skills.
• Experience with HVAC commissioning or balancing is a plus.

Work Environment

• Work may take place indoors or outdoors on construction sites.
• Exposure to noise, dust, heights, and physically demanding environments.
• May require overtime, weekend work, or shift flexibility depending on project needs.
