Duty Medical Officer (M.B.B.S)

Purpose of the Role

To provide round-the-clock medical care, ensure clinical coordination, and support consultants in delivering safe, effective, and timely patient care.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties

  • Provide medical care to inpatients and emergency patients during duty hours
  • Perform initial patient assessment, examination, and documentation
  • Execute treatment orders as advised by consultants
  • Monitor patient condition and report abnormalities promptly

Emergency & Ward Management

  • Attend emergency cases and stabilize patients
  • Assist in emergency procedures and resuscitation
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Ensure timely referral to consultants and specialists

Documentation & Records

  • Maintain accurate medical records, progress notes, and case sheets
  • Ensure completion of consents, treatment orders, and medico-legal documents
  • Follow hospital policies and NABH documentation standards

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with consultants, nurses, paramedical staff, and support services
  • Communicate patient status to relatives as per hospital protocol
  • Handover patients properly during shift changes

Patient Safety & Quality

  • Adhere to clinical protocols, infection control, and patient safety guidelines
  • Report incidents, near misses, and adverse events
  • Participate in audits, mortality & morbidity meetings

Ethics & Professional Conduct

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ensure respectful behavior toward patients and colleagues
  • Follow duty roster, attendance, and discipline policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
