Overview:

More than 40 years ago, long-time Juno Beach resident Eleanor Fletcher started what is now Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The center now hosts thousands of school children each year through field trips, outreach programs, summer camp and other educational experiences. In addition, more than 325,000 visitors come to the center each year to see the exhibits and the sea turtle hospital.

LMC seeks an Ecommerce Coordinator responsible for overseeing the systems and services that support the ecommerce business strategy at Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC). This would include the development and maintenance of the LMC, Juno Beach Pier (JBP), and Manatee Lagoon Estore.

Position Description:

A member of the retail team, the e-commerce Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the systems and services that support the e-commerce business strategy at Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC). This would include the development and maintenance of the LMC, Juno Beach Pier (JBP), Cox, and Manatee Lagoon Estores. Additionally, the e-commerce Coordinator oversees the development of the Adoption program for the Gift Store and Estore and also handles special requests from Staff for Adoption packages. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Responsible for Estore development, maintenance, and security.

· Develop and implement ecommerce strategy in order to improve website performance.

· Publish new items/descriptions on Estore ensuring all product information is accurate, including measurements, weight, as well as consistency of photography graphics (size and image).

· Perform and/or oversee customer communications and timely order fulfillment, which includes picking and packaging orders as per standard.

· Ensure that department milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.

· Provide analytics reporting of online sales to the Director & VP of Retail.

· Coordinate with Director of Retail Operations Manager on product selection, including the addition of new products and elimination of products that are no longer available or are not generating revenue.

· With the assistance of Director of Retail Operations Manager, develop planning calendar to coordinate weekly featured product(s), blog posts, email campaigns, newsletter releases, sales, and promotions.

· Manage Adoptions inventory to ensure adequate supply for packages.

· Coordinate with the marketing team a strategy to improve traffic acquisition and conversion rates through SEO, email marketing, and social media to drive Estore sales; collaborate with marketing to manage the Retail social account.

· Create, oversee, improve or acquire white-background product photos for items.

· Coordinate with Marketing Department lifestyle photo shoots and models.

· Maintain the image/brand/message of LMC through the Estore.

· Monitor system for issues and address them as they arise, working with BigCommerce and/or Heartland Retail as necessary.

· Review emerging technologies, online trends, and apps/widgets for positive impact to current operations and recommend changes that will enhance or improve existing e-commerce efforts.

· Execute promotional campaigns.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as with a team. In addition, experience with online sales and ecommerce platforms is required. Employee must be organized and possess strong technical, marketing, retail, and customer service skills. This role also requires the ability to analyze customer behavior and feedback to continuously improve usability and enhance the impact and income of the Estore with the ability to analyze financial data.

Location:

This position home base is in our warehouse located in Rivera Beach, FL (33404).

Schedule:

This is a full-time exempt position. Standard hours are between 40-45 hours per week. Additional time may be required during peak events or holidays.

Supervisor:

Directly responsible to the Director of Retail Operations

Skills Required:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Experience with BigCommerce/Shopify/ Heartland or similar programs

Educational Requirement:

College degree required.

Introductory Period:

It is the policy of LMC that all team members, including newly hired, transferred and promoted team members, will be carefully monitored and evaluated for an initial introductory period on the job. After satisfactory completion of the introductory evaluation, such team members will be evaluated on an annual basis.

The good work we do on campus is designed to promote the conservation of ocean ecosystems and the protection of threatened and endangered sea turtles.

LMC is one of the most visited Cultural destinations in Palm Beach County and in 2023 LMC’s beach-side campus and pier attracted over 350,000 visitors, nearly half of whom were from outside of Palm Beach County. In 2016, LMC entered into a working partnership with FPL to help operate Manatee Lagoon, a free educational facility in West Palm Beach designed to educate the public on the endangered manatee and the sensitive ecosystems the manatee calls home.

Our core focus areas are education, research, conservation and sea turtle rehabilitation. Our campus is widely known for our world class sea turtle hospital, our cutting-edge sea turtle research laboratory, our sea-side themed gift boutique, and our very popular public and signature events.
