SUMMARY:

Assist with screening pre-school age children living in Inver Grove Heights for Kindergarten. This position will work up to 450 hours per year with a variable scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    Licensed as a Pre-K Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, or a Special Education Teacher
    One year experience in yearly childhood programs or screening.
    Above average written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
    Capable of working cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and older adults.
    Proficient at problem solving and team decision making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Administer and score state-approved screening tools across developmental, health, speech, and social-emotional domains using standardized procedures.
    Review screening outcomes and share the results with families in a clear and supportive manner, providing information or referrals when further evaluation may be necessary.
    Foster trust and collaboration with families by explaining the screening process, addressing questions, and connecting them with early learning or community resources.
    Work closely with early childhood staff, interpreters, nurses, and community partners to ensure coordinated, inclusive, and efficient screening services.
    Maintain accurate documentation of screening results.
    Engage in ongoing professional learning, uphold confidentiality, and provide equitable and welcoming screening experiences for all children and families.
    Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Education and Director of Early Learning.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

    $33.24 per hour
    Eligible for TRA and time off under ESST.
