Early Childhood Teacher required

Jefferson Park Preschool is a well-respected childcare center located in the heart of Elizabeth, NJ. Jefferson Park Preschool was established in 1969 by concerned Elizabeth residents as a private, non-profit organization to provide quality daycare for children of working families. Since its founding Jefferson Park has provided a word-class early childhood program; with a majority of it's graduates going on to excel in academics and gain entry to honors and gifted and talented programs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center's philosophies whilst following High Scope Curriculum.
• Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning.
• Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
• Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff
• Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios
• Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
• Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers
• Undertake administrative tasks as required
• Submit weekly lesson plans
• Work with colleagues on school-wide special events

Requirements:

• A Bachelor Degree in Education (Early Childhood) or related field
• NJ Teaching Certificate CE or CEAS; P-3 Certification
• Experience working in a childcare setting
• Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Friendly personality ability to communicate with parents
• A good level of computer literacy
• A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework

The full-time position begins in September 2021.
