Key Job Responsibilities:
Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasounds
- Conduct transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as ordered by physicians.
Patient Care & Preparation
- Prepare inpatients and outpatients for procedures, explain steps clearly, and ensure their physical and emotional comfort.
Collaborate with Cardiology Team
- Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate diagnostics and seamless patient care.
Operate Advanced Imaging Equipment
- Use hospital-grade ultrasound systems and software to acquire high-quality images for diagnostic interpretation.
Analyze and Report Findings
- Provide preliminary image assessments, measure cardiac structures, and document findings in patient records using EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to stat or emergency echo requests, including portable studies in ICU, ER, and OR settings.
Maintain Equipment & Supplies
- Perform routine maintenance checks, report malfunctions, and manage ultrasound inventory and supplies.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control policies, and accreditation standards (e.g., IAC, JCAHO).
Participate in Training & Quality Control
- Support ongoing education, student training (if applicable), and contribute to quality assurance initiatives.
Documentation & Billing Support
- Ensure accurate coding, proper documentation for billing, and support workflow within the cardiology department.
