Position Summary:

The Education Program Coordinator role plans and coordinates operational activities of the clinical education department and contributes to the development of program educational and administrative goals and objectives. Assists with the mapping of the clinical education program structure and provides sound guidance and advice on other pertinent clinical education program issues.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides administrative oversight for assigned clinical education related items including, but not limited to: handling inquiries, sorting correspondence, setting up folders, maintaining clinical education departmental files in accordance with records retention schedules, assisting in requests for verification of clinical training, and maintaining calendar of trainings and meetings.
  • Works directly with the clinical educators to migrate clinical education program requirements to meet current practice standards. Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all clinical education department requirements. This includes nurse residency coordination and planning, class roster management, coordinating training classes and meetings, maintaining training records across varied platforms, and oversight of departmental performance reporting.
  • Manages schedules and clinical staff attendance for all required educational activities, including conferences and other didactic experiences. Collaborates with clinic managers regarding staff training and space allocation.
  • Coordinates various educational activities, including CPR classes, medical assistant classes, nurse residency classes, and ad hoc initiatives. Maintains the clinical education curriculum, including competency-based goals and objectives for each assignment and each level of training.
  • Oversees assigned aspects of the clinical staff and nursing residency correspondence with potential participants, confirming meetings and appointments and ensuring credentials are in compliance with current guidelines.
  • Implements all required modules of the clinical education management software, to include the management and reporting of data as well as user training for clinical staff and clinical educators.
  • Maintains records of affiliation agreements with participating schools.
  • May be assigned routine budget or financial responsibilities by clinical education leadership.
  • Manages the content creation process for integrated EHR training scenarios.
  • Serves as a class facilitator for the clinical education team when needed.
  • Creates online tutorials to facilitate training on various systems used by clinical staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal; excellent attention to detail, skilled multi-tasking ability, demonstrated commitment to follow-through of assigned tasks and projects, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office Suite applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and other web-based applications.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills and judgment in problem-solving and decision-making, or escalating issues as needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills and collegiality; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Education:

Associate's Degree required May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience:

3 years of related experience required required experience in an healthcare setting preferred

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. A foreign adversary is a nation listed in 15 C.F.R. §791.4.
