E&I Inspector (Compex / IECEx Certified)
To provide independent third-party electrical and instrumentation inspection services on behalf of client, ensuring equipment, installation, and hazardous-area work comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site handover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out visual, dimensional, and functional inspection of electrical and instrumentation equipment (switchgear, transformers, panels, junction boxes, cables, instruments, control systems) at vendor/manufacturer premises and site.
- Verify hazardous area (Ex) equipment certification, marking, and installation compliance with IECEx / ATEX and relevant IEC 60079 series standards.
- Witness and report on Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and pre-commissioning activities.
- Review vendor documentation, test certificates, calibration records, and material certificates (MTC/MTR) for compliance.
- Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and punch-list items through to close-out.
- Prepare detailed daily/weekly inspection reports and final inspection release/acceptance certificates.
- Liaise with client, EPC contractor, and vendor representatives to resolve technical queries during inspection.
- Ensure full compliance with client HSE requirements while on vendor premises or site.
QUALIFICATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent trade background with extensive field experience).
- Valid Compex certification (Ex01–Ex04) — mandatory.
- Valid IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence — mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as CSWIP, BGAS, or client-specific inspector certifications are an advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 12 years' hands-on experience in E&I inspection within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or LNG projects.
- Proven track record of FAT/SAT witnessing for major EPC or vendor packages.
- Strong working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, and client/international hazardous-area standards.
- Experience working with international certification bodies (BV, DNV, TUV, Lloyd's) preferred.
