Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Elder Law and/or Trusts & Estates to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various aspects of Elder Law and/or Trusts & Estate Law. This position requires excellent legal research skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients. The Associate Attorney will work collaboratively with partner and senior attorneys to provide high-quality legal services and support.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care directives, and probate/administration petitions.
  • Assist in the representation of clients in various legal matters, including estate planning, Medicaid planning and probate/estate administration proceedings.
  • Attend court hearings and client meetings to provide legal counsel and representation.
  • Collaborate with partner and senior attorneys.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation in compliance with firm policies.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the NY bar.
  • Strong legal research skills with proficiency in Lexis-Nexis or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of trust and estate law, guardianship law, estate planning and Medicaid-related matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
