Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Inspector for a short-term 2-month contract in an oil & gas or petrochemical project. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and international standards, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection of electrical and instrumentation installations in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Inspect electrical systems including cables, cable trays, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, lighting, and earthing/grounding systems
  • Verify installation of instrumentation such as transmitters, control valves, analyzers, tubing, and impulse lines
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings
  • Witness and verify testing activities including insulation resistance (IR), continuity tests, loop checking, and functional testing
  • Ensure proper calibration of instruments in line with project requirements and standards
  • Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with approved method statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Ensure adherence to international standards such as IEC, NEC, ISA, API, and project specifications
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), identify deviations, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Verify that all materials and equipment delivered to site meet approved specifications and are properly stored
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, records, and QA/QC documentation
  • Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, construction teams, and client representatives
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and safe working practices
  • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Assist in preparation and review of final handover documentation and loop folders

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems and QA/QC processes
  • Familiarity with international standards (IEC, NEC, ISA, API)
  • Experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Knowledge of hazardous area requirements (ATEX/IECEx) is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Duration: 2 months (fixed-term contract)

  • Immediate availability preferred
