Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our construction company’s office-based engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and technical support of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects. This role will work closely with project managers, architects, consultants, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical plans and layouts for building systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and system coordination studies.
• Collaborate with project teams to coordinate electrical design with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, civil).
• Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and site teams during construction.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs related to electrical systems.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA), safety standards, and client requirements.
• Support procurement by reviewing vendor documentation and assisting in equipment selection.
• Assist in cost estimation, material take-offs, and scheduling for electrical scopes of work.
• Participate in value engineering and design optimization efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in electrical design within the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes (NEC, local codes).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• EIT certification required; PE license is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a general contractor or design-build environment.
• Familiarity with construction processes and field coordination.
• Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable design practices.
