Electrical Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting electrical faults, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Technician will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager to support efficient operations and reliability of electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, including but not limited to power distribution systems, lighting, control systems, and motors.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.

Repair or replace defective components and parts to restore electrical systems to proper operation.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing electrical work.

Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

Report on issues, failures, and recommendations for improvements to the Electrical Engineer or Maintenance Manager.

Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure coordinated efforts and efficient operations.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment.

Recommend improvements to enhance the reliability and performance of electrical systems.

Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements in electrical maintenance and repair.

Requirements and skills:

Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role.

Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components.

Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards for electrical systems.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
