W2 Hourly Contract: $43.73- 54.49 per hour DOE*
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support a Combat Mission Systems business in
the area of ground combat vehicles. Once hired, you will work closely with one or more of our
electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit
board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable
Unit (LRU) enclosures for one of our combat vehicle systems.
In a nutshell: You'll be working on site in Huntsville with assigned suppliers to ensure an ongoing high-level of production quality is met. USA. To succeed, you must have experience in the design and manufacture of PCBAs/CCAs and the ability to help resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns in direct support of production.
Other responsibilities will include:

Investigating, evaluating, and supporting the resolution of supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects.

Ensuring suppliers understand requirements and expectations; making progress reports
and presenting findings. -
Supporting team led problem solving and root-cause analysis activities with assigned
supplier to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. -
Evaluating the impact of nonconforming product and assessing suppliers' corrective actions

Helping suppliers with process improvements to ensure resolution of manufacturing process concerns.

Driving “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base.

Participating in Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team.
Requirements:

US Citizenship is required for consideration

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Technical Discipline
-
5+ years of directly related experience
-
Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/ Preventative Actions

Certification to IPC-A-600 is strongly desired, Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001 is required. Must have familiarity with, and experience in, IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD- 001, as well as subordinate IPC standards/guidelines.

Ability to travel locally approximately 10%

Must be Effective, practical problem solver using structured problem-solving methods and systems

Have a solid understanding of technical drawing requirements with ability to determine compliance

Computer skills including MS Office Suite and related industry software applications are required

Effective, clear communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
-
Design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries is strongly desired
-
Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A- 610, and IPC-A-620 is a plus
-
Fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries desired.

Production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products
-
Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.

Experience with Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management desired

Servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and test experience preferred
-
Working knowledge of design for environmental qualification including EMI/EMC design and qualification principles a plus
-
IPC-6012, IPC-6013, IPC-6018, subordinate IPC standards/guidelines, MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF- 38534, and ASME Y14.5.
