Electrical Engineer – Port Infrastructure Project
Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee and manage all electrical aspects of our port development project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design, site supervision, and coordination within large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in marine or port environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems including power distribution, lighting (normal and emergency), and low-voltage systems.
- Perform load calculations and equipment sizing for electrical components.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IS, etc.).
- Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and civil teams for integrated designs.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Supervise installation of electrical systems: wiring, switchgear, panels, transformers, etc.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site teams for timely execution.
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to technical standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Conduct inspections and functional testing of electrical systems.
- Implement energy-efficient solutions such as LED lighting, solar, or hybrid systems.
- Oversee systems such as fire alarms, grounding, lightning protection, and ELV (CCTV, BMS, access control).
- Prepare technical documentation, including test reports and compliance certificates.
- Maintain updated as-built drawings and documentation.
- Liaise with local authorities for permits, inspections, and approvals.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years experience
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of ELV systems, fire safety, and port-specific electrical requirements.
- Experience in MEP coordination, particularly integration with HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
