1- MISSION
Provides Electrical project/design engineering services, including technical advice, package field management, infield liaising (with project team, client and contractors), supervision of project (construction) resources onsite/design services.
2- LINE AND STAFF RELATIONS
The Electrical Engineer will report to the Head of Practice – Building Design in the design office and / or the trade senior engineer
o Team of MEP Engineers as well as Architects and Engineers of other practices.
o BIM Manager and Technicians in the design office
3- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A- Site Supervision Stage:
- Review, approve and process all electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements & inspection test plans.
- Monitor and supervise the Electrical Works associated with the project in relation to quality, requirements and standards.
- Perform scheduled inspections via Work Inspection Requests and provide accurate inspection comments related to the Electrical works.
- Monitor Contractor's performance concerning the Electrical Works against approved Method Statements and ITPs.
- Conduct surveillance and regular walkthroughs of the Site to ascertain that Electrical works are proceeding in accordance with requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of the monthly Project Status Report as required.
- Conduct snagging and re-snagging (as necessary) of the Electrical Works declared to be complete by the Contractor.
- Approve the contractors' as-built drawings & O&M manuals.
- Assist in Testing and Commissioning.
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders and relevant local authorities.
B- Design Stage:
- Using BIM - Revit - and other software tools to assist Senior Engineer and design team in the delivery of a project from concept stage to project completion.
- Ensure the design meets all relevant international and / or regional codes and standard required for the project.
- Conduct various Electrical Engineering related Engineering tasks when assigned. (Experience in lighting, emergency lighting, MV/LV power distribution, fire alarm system, BMS design tasks.)
- Preparing electrical design calculations, concept / preliminary / detailed design drawings and reports.
- Drafting technical specifications for Electrical discipline equipment /systems.
- Assist the quantity surveyor to prepare project estimate and BOQ.
C- Health & Safety:
- Liaise with the Senior Health & Safety Consultant to ensure the compliance of the Electrical Engineering Team with HSE Plan.
4- PROFILE SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
8-10 years total experience with minimum of 3 years under BIM environment projects.
- Experience in Airports/large-scale projects within the consulting industry with specific experience in Middle East.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Saudi council of Engineers (SCE) membership or eligibility to obtain them is mandatory.
- Knowledge of relevant British, NFPA, IEC, ICAO codes & standards.
- Good knowledge of local authority regulations in KSA.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM software such as BIM/REVIT and other design software as applicable for Electrical Engineering design.
- General computer proficiency and good knowledge of the following programs and MS applications: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
