Electrical Engineer

An Electrical Engineer in building construction designs, installs, and maintains electrical systems—power, lighting, fire alarms, and, security. They prepare technical drawings (CAD/BIM), ensure compliance with safety codes (e.g., NEC, IEC), manage budgets/materials, and supervise on-site contractors to ensure system functionality, efficiency, and safety.

• Design and Planning: Create electrical schematics, power distribution plans, and load calculations using CAD or BIM software.
• Site Supervision: Oversee contractors installing electrical systems (wiring, transformers, switchboards) to ensure compliance with drawings and safety standards.
• Testing and Commissioning: Conduct insulation resistance, grounding, and operational testing on systems before building handover.
• Technical Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work adheres to local and international electrical codes. Prepare technical reports, material submittals, and as-built drawings.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects and civil engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall construction schedule.
• Quality Control & Troubleshooting: Inspect installations for defects and troubleshoot any electrical issues during construction.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD and electrical simulation software.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC).
• Strong project management and troubleshooting abilities.
