Position Overview

Inspect and monitor electrical works on site to ensure compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, UAE regulations, and JCE quality standards, while coordinating closely with the Resident Engineer, contractor, and relevant authorities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations including LV systems, power distribution, lighting, earthing/grounding, lightning protection, and interface with ELV works as applicable.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) prior to execution.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable UAE codes and authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence where relevant).
• Witness and record testing and commissioning (e.g., insulation resistance, earth resistance, cable testing, functional testing) and verify results against acceptance criteria.
• Issue NCRs/observations, follow up on corrective actions, and maintain clear close-out records.
• Coordinate with contractors, specialist subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site issues and avoid clashes/rework.
• Prepare inspection reports, progress updates, and snag/punch lists; support handover documentation including as-builts and O&M submissions.
• Support quality audits and ensure inspections are conducted in line with approved HSE requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Electrical Inspector in the UAE, preferably on high-rise building projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV systems, lighting, earthing/grounding, and testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations and authority approvals relevant to electrical works (including DEWA).
• Strong reporting skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills; able to work under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of ELV coordination and familiarity with BIM/ISO 19650 workflows is an advantage.
