About the role

RT Boron operations mine site is seeking a talented electrical maintenance engineer to work in the mine mobile maintenance department based in Boron, CA. As an electrical maintenance engineer, you will work in a team of professionals with the common goal of adequately maintaining a fleet of large scale mining equipment to be as productive as possible in mining operations. Your specific contribution to the team is to provide engineering support utilizing problem solving and technical skills to drive good asset management practices. You will work in a fast paced dynamic environment with lots of opportunity to grow and develop. The normal work schedule for this position is Mon-Fri, 9-hour days with every other Friday off.


  • Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will:
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance working closely with electrical technicians.
  • Manage electrical component repairs, supply chain, and warehouse stock. Conduct failure analysis on electrical components and provide technical reports.
  • Audit electrical PM process, identify areas of improvement, and implement solutions.
  • Budget for major component replacements, monitor the condition of electrical components, and schedule replacement.
  • Identify electrical component improvements and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality programs.


About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A BS degree in electrical engineering, related discipline, or extensive experience with electrical propulsion mining equipment.
  • Extensive computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • A self-starter attitude and a desire to learn and improve the business.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills to manage technicians and prioritize work load.
  • Willingness to work in an industrial mining environment.


It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Mining equipment knowledge (CAT, Komatsu, MTU, etc.)
  • Statex 3 DC electric propulsion Knowledge
  • SAP knowledge
