Electrical Maintenance Engineer

NW Metal Sections is a leading UK manufacturer of cold-formed steel and cable-containment systems.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias to join our expanding team, in this role you will provide preventative and reactive maintenance across all aspects of production.

As a Maintenance Engineer at NW Metal Sections you will have the below duties:

Duties:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to company machinery and the company building.
  • Respond to defects, faults and company requests. Identifying the root causes of any breakdowns and faults.
  • Carrying out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks.
  • Carrying out inspections, fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Completing company job sheets and tasks.
  • Maintaining site based records and log books.
  • Carrying out general cleaning and housekeeping to maximise life expectancy of all equipment.
  • Proactively working to reduce energy consumption and recommending any improvements.
  • Working to all health & safety compliance standards and local policies and procedures are met.
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with all staff.
  • Assist with any reasonable requests from your manager.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as required and requested by management.

Skills:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in appropriate mechanical/electrical discipline or equivalent - Essential.
  • Electrical Bias - Essential.
  • EAL Level 3 - Electrical Instillation - Essential.
  • 18th Edition electrical - Preferred.
  • 3 years Facilities Maintenance experience - Essential.
  • Strong Mechanical (Facilities) knowledge, background and experience - Essential.
  • Hydraulic experience - Essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to frequently changing circumstances.
  • Effective problem solving, creative thinking and analytical skills.
  • An effective communicator, able to adapt your communication style.

Information:

  • 40 hours per week contract. Overtime available and required dependant on work load.
  • AM/DAYS/PM rotating shift.
  • AM = Monday - Friday: 6am - 3pm. DAYS = Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm. PM = Monday - Thursday: 1pm - 10pm Friday: 11am - 8pm.
  • 2 x 30 minutes break unpaid.
  • 24 days annual leave (for a full year) plus bank holidays.
  • Annual Christmas shutdown.
  • May also include heavy lifting.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering with a strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
