Electrical Project Engineer – Job Description

Project: Luxury Hotel Development – North Africa

Position Summary

The Electrical Project Engineer will manage all electrical systems on site, ensuring proper coordination with subcontractors, fit-out teams, and specialist vendors. The role requires strong technical knowledge, site experience, and the ability to manage complex hospitality electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily electrical works (power, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, data, CCTV, access control, AV, lighting control).
  • Coordinate with electrical subcontractors to ensure proper sequencing and quality.
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with fit‑out contractors, joinery, ID works, and specialist systems.
  • Attend daily/weekly coordination meetings with construction and subcontractor teams.
  • Review electrical shop drawings, coordination drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and consultant comments.
  • Follow up with subcontractors for timely resubmissions and closure of comments.
  • Liaise with manufacturer representatives for installation requirements, testing, commissioning, and technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate specialist systems such as lighting control, BMS, fire alarm, AV, guest room management systems (GRMS), UPS, generators, etc.
  • Monitor site progress and report delays or risks to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, inspection requests, and site documentation.
  • Follow up on material deliveries and long‑lead items.
  • Ensure all electrical works follow approved method statements, ITPs, and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to close NCRs and ensure safe execution.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities for all electrical and ELV systems.
  • Assist in preparing O&M manuals, as‑built drawings, and handover documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8–10 years of GCC experience in electrical and ELV works within construction projects, preferably with main contractors and on luxury hotel or high‑end hospitality projects.
  • Experience in luxury hotels, high‑end hospitality, or fast‑track projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of LV, ELV, lighting control, fire alarm, and specialist electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and review shop drawings and coordination drawings.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
