Job Title: Electrical Quantity Surveyor (Immediate Joiner, Oil & Gas Preferred)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial and cost control aspects of electrical scope across one or more projects, with a strong emphasis on accurate cost estimation, procurement, change management, and robust cost reporting. Immediate availability is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with Oil & Gas experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue all electrical-related cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for projects from feasibility to final account.
  • Manage electrical scope of work bills of quantities (BOQ), cost plans, and cost indices; perform value engineering where appropriate.
  • Process interim valuations, variations/change orders, and final accounts for electrical contracts; assess extension of time, loss and expense, and associated claims.
  • Monitor, report, and control electrical project costs against budgets; identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain cost control dashboards.
  • Review and manage procurement activities for electrical equipment, materials, and services; evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations, negotiate final prices, and issue purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and relevant standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, local codes, and Oil & Gas industry standards).
  • Prepare risk assessments related to cost, schedule, and commercial performance; maintain risk registers with mitigation plans.
  • Liaise with Project Controls, Engineering, Construction, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless commercial processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation: cost databases, subcontracts, change orders, progress reports, and correspondence.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., RICS, ICES, COB, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and installation practices in construction.
  • Experience with cost planning, estimation, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Right to work in the country of employment and ability to join immediately.
