Electrical Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Senior Project Engineer to oversee and manage electrical systems and installations for offshore drilling rigs and oil & gas platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offshore operations, electrical engineering design, and project execution in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineering activities for offshore drilling rig and oil & gas installation projects from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and review electrical design packages including single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and instrumentation engineers.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, API, ATEX) and offshore regulations.
• Manage procurement, installation, and testing of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, and lighting.
• Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and technical evaluations on offshore platforms and rigs.
• Supervise contractors and vendors during offshore installation and commissioning phases.
• Prepare project documentation including progress reports, technical queries, and change orders.
• Support troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems during operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering within offshore oil & gas and drilling rig environments.
• Proven experience with offshore installations, hazardous area classification, and marine electrical systems.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations in offshore operations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Good experience and understanding of ATEX, IEC Offshore Installation Standards and Oil & Gas electrical installation requirements.
• Good knowledge of Classification Society Rules (ABS / DNV) electrical requirements.
