Electrical Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist to lead advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and optimization of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems across industrial and power generation operations. This senior technical role is ideal for a hands-on electrical professional with strong troubleshooting expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for improving system reliability, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults in transformers, switchgear, motors, and power distribution systems
• Propose and implement system upgrades and performance improvements
• Plan and execute electrical maintenance activities during shutdowns, turnarounds, and system upgrades
• Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
• Analyze performance data and KPIs; recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Provide technical leadership and mentor technicians and junior engineers
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to align maintenance with operations
• Maintain accurate records and manage work orders using CMMS (e.g., SAP PM)

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Essential)
• Diploma in Electrical Systems with extensive experience (Considered)

Experience:

• 8–10+ years of electrical maintenance experience in industrial or power generation environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with HV, MV, and LV systems

Certifications (Preferred):

• Electrical Safety Certification (e.g., NFPA 70E)
• CMRP or equivalent
• Power system protection/diagnostics certifications (e.g., SEL, ABB)

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems (transformers, circuit breakers, protection systems)
• Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis
• Advanced use of diagnostic tools (e.g., Doble, Omicron)
• Expert understanding of regulatory compliance and safety protocols
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (IoT monitoring, predictive maintenance)
• Leadership and mentoring abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• CMMS experience (SAP PM preferred)
