Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of all electrical systems, machinery, and control panels within our biodiesel production plant. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting our continuous operation in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, including motors, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, lighting systems, and power distribution systems.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose issues and perform accurate repairs.

• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules on all electrical assets to ensure reliability and longevity.

• Quickly respond to electrical breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize production disruption.

• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.

• Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with the company safety policies, and OSHA standards.

• Collaborate with the operations and instrumentation teams to support automation and control system projects.

• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.

_ Qualifications and Experience: _

• Essential: A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a production, manufacturing, or industrial plant environment (chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food processing, or similar).

• A diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is a strong advantage.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems, including 3-phase power, control circuits, and motor starters.

• Basic computer knowledge is required for logging work orders, parts usage, and accessing digital manuals.

• Strong understanding of safety procedures and legal regulations for working in an industrial setting.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and be available for occasional overtime or on-call duty as needed.
