Electrical Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician for a reputed project in Qatar. The candidate will be responsible for inspection, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and refurbishment of diesel engines, marine engines, hydraulic systems, and oil spill response equipment owned by QatarEnergy. The role requires strong technical expertise, safety compliance, and the ability to support offshore and onshore maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular inspections and check-ups of QatarEnergy equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly schedule
  • Handle breakdown maintenance as required
  • Refurbish oil spill equipment when needed
  • Assist in the commissioning of oil spill equipment
  • Support the mobilization and demobilization of equipment during operations and drills
  • Perform rigging and slinging activities
  • Maintain records, reports, and maintenance documentation
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks, JHA, risk assessments, and safety duties
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engine, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Read and understand electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and specifications
  • Install insulated cables, switches, outlets, motors, heaters, transformers, and other electrical components

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 Years Gulf Experience (Mandatory)
  • Nationality can be any, but the candidate should be Muslim
  • Ready for Online Interview via MS Teams
  • Valid Passport Copy Required
  • Valid Experience Certificates Required
  • Must currently reside in Qatar with a valid Qatari ID Card

Qualifications

  • Valid technical certification as a Diesel Mechanic Technician or a 3-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree (attested by official authorities)
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience with diesel engines, marine engines, and similar heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, overhauling, hydraulic systems, fitting, turning, and fabrication
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals in English
  • Ability to test, locate, and repair electrical faults
  • Experience in the installation of cables, switches, circuit breakers, motors, and electrical components
  • Completed H2S Training, T-BOSIET, Basic Rigging & Slinging, and other offshore/onshore safety courses
  • Good computer skills and report-writing ability
  • Physically fit, able to swim, and a valid Offshore Medical Fitness Certificate required
