Electrical Test Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Test Engineer

Job Description

The Electrical Test Engineer will lead the testing needs for software-defined radio (SDR) systems. This role involves supporting requirements verification, developing test equipment racks, designing custom test equipment, and creating test software. The engineer will conduct performance and characterization tests, including RF/microwave measurements, BER testing, and avionics interface testing, while also developing verification activities based on requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integration and testing of software-defined radio (SDR) systems.
  • Support requirements verification processes.
  • Develop and design custom test equipment and test equipment racks.
  • Conduct performance and characterization tests such as RF/microwave measurements, BER testing, and avionics interface testing.
  • Develop verification activities based on requirements and specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in integration testing and test procedure development.
  • Proficiency in RF testing and hardware testing.
  • Knowledge of using oscilloscopes and Python programming.
  • Strong understanding of RF measurement techniques using Spectrum Analyzer, network analyzers, phase noise analyzers, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with space flight hardware testing.
  • Familiarity with environmental and qualification testing.
  • US Permanent Resident status.

Work Environment

The team is based in Southern California and is currently expanding. The existing team consists of four former JPL team members and is expected to grow to ten members in the coming months.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whittier, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
