Purpose and Scope of the Job
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, appliances, systems, facilities, and related electrical controls and devices. Assign, direct and review the work of lower-level employees. Assist in the training of new personnel.
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
- Installs, monitors performance and maintains various electrical equipment (e.g. motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, transformers, etc.,) for hazards, adjustments or replacement.
- Interprets plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, and specifications or verbal instructions.
- Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Install disconnects lights, devices and electrical panels; install motors, motor control circuits, electrical systems in hazardous locations and transformers; install in torsional arm systems and grounding systems in general facilities.
- Calculate power requirements for electrical systems and service batteries.
- Perform periodic switchgear maintenance of relays and control switches troubleshoot switchgear circuits and control switches; replace circuit components.
- Inspect and maintain power conditioners, and grounding systems in general and electronic facilities.
- The Electrician may work with his assistant and other maintenance workers such as Carpenter, Plumber, or Painter to complete an assigned task.
- Requisitions material and maintains stock.
- Supervises compliance with standards of safety.
- Periodicallychecksalltheelectricalcircuitsandequipmentforpreventivemaintenance.
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people’s centered care.
- Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
- Will have to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competences and Skills
Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade Certificate.
Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Thorough knowledge of electromechanical equipment in generals such as pumps, controls, compressors, knowledge of communications and alarm systems desirable.
Language: Proficiency English Language, Arabic would be an added advantage
Computer Proficiency: Good Computer Skills

- Calculate required size for conducting electrical installation, thread, bend and install conduit

- Able to install light fixtures, switches, outlets, motors and other electrical devices
- Able to install intrusion alarm systems, motor control circuits, battery banks, battery Chargers and grounding systems in general and electronic facilities.
- Able to install switch gear, electrical panels, electrical systems in hazardous locations and transformers
- Able to troubleshoot switchgear circuits and control switches.
- Able to replace circuit components (instrument meters, surge protectors, relays, control switches).
- Able to troubleshoot motors, motor control circuits, across the line starters, battery banks and battery chargers.
- Able to inspect and maintain power conditioners, and grounding systems in general facilities.
- Able to repair/replace electrical appliances in general and electronic facilities. Firestopping.
- Read and understand work-related materials. Understand new information or materials by studying and working with them.
