Overview:
SOSi is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for our current contract in support of our Government customer at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
Responsibilities:
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools

Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and component, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem

Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components

Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes

Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous

Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system

Inspects existing facilities and installations as required by the statement of work

Locates and repairs defects in electrical systems and identify circuit Life, Health, and Safety (LHS) issues

Estimates and orders supplies and materials needed

Recommends improvements and revisions to current maintenance procedures

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide high quality, seamless service

Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Active in Scope TS/SCI security clearance.

Minimum five (5) years of experience as an approved electrician.

Have completed an electrical apprenticeship.

Hold a valid and current JIB grade card and hold the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. (Must have minimum 1 year before expiry) Knowledge and skill in safe operation and application of instrumentation to include circuit testers, power analyzers, ground rod resistance meters, ground fault loop impedance testers, and residual current device testers

Skill in classifying electrical distribution systems, troubleshooting, identifying circuit faults and fault loop circuit paths, and proper grounding and bonding.

Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the Air Force or Army culture, language and expectations for mission success.
Working Conditions:

Full-time position with standard working hours; may require occasional evening or weekend work.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.

Exposure to potentially hazardous materials and environments; appropriate safety measures must be followed.
