Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment throughout the hotel. This includes guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities. The role ensures safety, efficiency, and uninterrupted service to enhance guest satisfaction and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Maintain lighting systems, power outlets, and appliances in guest rooms and public areas.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Installation
- Install new electrical systems, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures as required.
- Support renovation or expansion projects with electrical expertise.
- Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to hotel safety standards and local electrical codes.
- Conduct routine checks to prevent hazards such as short circuits or overloads.
- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Coordination
- Work closely with housekeeping, engineering, and front office teams to address issues.
- Report major faults to the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
- Familiarity with hotel-specific equipment (HVAC, elevators, kitchen appliances).
- Qualifications
- I T I /Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Licensed electrician (as per local regulations).
- Prior experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance preferred.
