Electro-Mechanical

Purpose of the job

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines and their electrical and electronic systems. The role ensures optimal performance, reliability, and safety of marine equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Diploma or technical certification in Electro-Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

· Proven experience in marine engine maintenance and electronic engine control systems.

· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, PLC basics, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques.

· Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing equipment.

· Good problem-solving and communication skills.

· Ability to work onboard vessels and in workshop environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance and repair of marine diesel engines and electro-mechanical systems.

· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in engines and auxiliary equipment.

· Maintain and troubleshoot engine control systems, sensors, wiring, panels, and electronic modules.

· Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer guidelines.

· Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

· Test engine performance and calibrate electronic components.

· Install, assemble, and commission electro-mechanical equipment.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

· Maintain maintenance records and prepare technical reports.

. Coordinate with engineers and operations teams to minimize downtime.
