Electro-Mechanical Technician / Power Plant Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician / Power Plant Operator to join our team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in diesel generator systems, high-voltage (HV) plant operations, and power generation environments.

Important Note: This role requires an individual who can actively operate and manage plant systems—not just monitor them—and effectively coordinate with plant operators and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and manage multi-megawatt high-voltage (HV) power plant systems
• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of diesel generator sets
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
• Program, configure, and adjust DSE generator controllers
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings and technical schematics
• Coordinate with plant operators and ensure smooth system integration
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Operate AC & DC load banks when required
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
• Follow operational procedures and safety standards at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Recognized qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering / Trade
• Proven experience with Cummins, Iveco, or Scania diesel generator engines (dealer-level preferred)
• Hands-on experience in DSE controller programming and adjustments
• Experience operating multi-megawatt HV power plants
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Good command of English (spoken & written)
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Valid driving license is mandatory
• Ability to work both independently and within a team

Work Conditions

• 24/7 operations (shift-based role)
• Flexible to work at any location within Qatar
• Ability to work under pressure in demanding environments
• Must be capable of full plant operation (not limited to monitoring/watchkeeping)

Preferred Skills (Advantage)

• Experience with AC & DC Load Banks
• Previous experience working directly with OEM dealers
• Basic administrative and reporting capabilities
