Waste Plant Operations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Manages on-site waste treatment plant operations, staffing, compliance, uptime, logs, and coordination with waste streams.
  • Monitor plant equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities with technical teams and equipment manufacturers.
  • Ensure compliance with operational safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant operations and waste management processes.
  • Supervise plant personnel, provide operational guidance, and ensure adequate training for safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment, safety systems, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management policies.
  • Investigate operational issues, equipment failures, and safety incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory authorities, and internal departments to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, safety performance, and environmental compliance.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Waste Management, Industrial Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in waste management or healthcare waste treatment facilities.
  • Experience handling healthcare or hazardous waste management operations is highly preferred.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) system training; Lockout/Tagout (LOTO); Permit to Work (PTW) preferred
